Daniel Squiller, CEO of PowerGenix, pitches Nickel-Zinc batteries the company manufactures as a lower cost alternative to Lithium Ion for stop / start mild forms of electric vehicles, offering additional advantages of versatility, environmental friendliness and safety. NiZn was invented 100 years ago by Thomas Edison, but could not be commercially adopted due to its inability to cycle. PowerGenix' solves this problem with a "secret sauce" - its patented electrolyte technology, according to Mr. Squiller. Recorded at the 2010 Cleantech Forum in San Francisco.
